I think I may have met the ultimate salesman yesterday.
I've been wanting to buy one of the small practice guitar amps so I can screw around with my guitar. I've found that since I started taking piano lessons again that any time I sit down to just play music I keep feeling guilty about not working on scales or the pieces I've been assigned. So playing, if you can call it that, the guitar would be a good musical outlet for me.
Anyways, I stop in a guitar shop downtown with the idea of getting one of those minature amps that run batteries and pump out about 1w at the most. The guy whose in the store is in the middle of demonstrating this new product from Roland which has all the features "FOR ONLY $20 MORE!!!!" Needless to say he talked me into purchasing it once he'd gone through the whole pitch. Hell, after he was done talking I'd been brainwashed into thinking not buying it could be the biggest mistake of my life beacuse" I'M SELLING AT LEAST 5 A DAY, EVERYONES GOT ONE!!"
So I got my amp which, if I ever learn how to play guitar, I could take into a recording studio and actually use on a guitar track. A bit of overkill for what I needed but now I can sound like the Beatles or AC/DC or Nirvana or Joe Satrianni or .......
In a less feeling like I was conned kind of mood I'm meeting my friend Emily tonight for coffee. She's awesome. Totally full of life and into trying out new things. I havn't hung out with her for a couple months so we'll have lots to yak about.

She's like "oh I've never played before".. then when she starts cleaning the table and I'm like "WTF?!!?" she's like "oh.. well.. I used to play in high school, you know in grade 9.. a little. I'm surprised how good I am too."
Thankfully I love a woman with mystery.
