"Naked. Isn't that a beautiful word?"

So says Laura Dern to John Cusak in the WWII period film "Fat Man and Little Boy". Of course the great irony is that the film is actually about the making of the first atomic bombs, and I believe one or both of their characters ends up getting fried by radiation later in the film, before they ever have the chance to consumate their relationship. It's a lot like life. The wicked ironies it plays upon are so transparent and predictable at times that it's beyond silly. And yet, there's only one way out, and consciously choosing to take that step proves difficult amidst all the distractions, not the least of which is places like this. So, "Suicide(G) saved my life"? No, not quite- not even close. But perhaps the idea that keeps far too many plugging away is the idea that any of all the things we buy into is real, and anything treasured has any true value. Watching the HBO thing or looking at something like Missy's SG party pics, I mean, for me, that's like a whole other level of reality. It's like some kind of punk rock heaven or something. Yet it's also like torture. But let's play make-believe! And lets look at all the pretty pictures and videos, let's make little ironic comments in each other's journals and on the boards, and let's keep the dream alive. Oh, I almost forgot, to the 3 of you that wanna be my "friend": sure! Why not? I'll be your pretend "internet friend", as if it means anything. I dunno why they switched it to you're needing permisssion, my opinion was always "feel free to add me at will", people. I'm everyone's friend. I only wish it worked like that the other way around (in "real life", that is).
