Asperger's Syndrome + INTP + lack of confidence = Xhiris.

That's my best guess, anyway.

It's not that I'm antisocial, I'm just bad at it.

So, if I haven't responded, or written anything, that's why.

I have more to say, but I'll stop here rather than put my foot in my mouth.

Notes From The Edge

Yes, I'm still here. Just haven't really had much to say recently.

I've been exploring a number of things, stuff I could not before. This could have been from the stress of working for someone with a Napoleon complex (I've since changed bosses - to the better), or from some general sense of apathy.

Whatever the cause, much of it has...

Idea!

www.pyromaniacdating.com

Imagine the emails: "You've got matches!"

(I never said it was a good idea.

In other news, the Yes concert tonight at Mohegan Sun Arena KICKED SERIOUS ASS.

Dont like Yes? Think they're has-beens? Well, tough. :p

I didn't know Yes had played recently... I'd always enjoyed everything of their's pasted along to me but, they also fit in the music catagory of "Good bands w/ vocalists whose voice I can't get past to enjoy the tunes as much as I really should". whatever Rush, much to the saddness of others, was lumped in there, as well.

You live in Groton? Are you in the Navy? smile

Short Division

There's been a dry spell of journal entries here for several reasons. Mostly, I've been updating my lifejournal in lieu of posting here; it seems strange to put some of my more abstract musings here.

I've wondered how well I fit in this community as well, but that may be a symptom of some deep reflection I've done lately.

For the first time...

I am not able to understand, only to understand more. The picture that I wish to examine is not static, it is growing and living. Even as I understand how the hinges of a door allow me to open it, I find that it leads to a room even larger than the first. But I think perhaps that is part of wisdom. Knowing that I...

I finally saw my new niece today!

In this corner, Amy Rae, weighing in at 7 lbs and some ounces.

And in this corner, my very tired brother and sister-in-law. smile

I can't get over how tiny she is; her whole head is smaller than my hand.

She looks just like my brother (which is a good thing!).

And today I've got confirmation that I come...

Indeed, Stephenson kicks mondo ass! I want to finish Quicksilver but, probably not for a couple more weeks. Why can't I just abosorb it through osmosis!? *places book under armpit and attempts to draw awesome plot through the vaired dermal layers* tongue Edited after the fact to say: Stephenson's new book came out today... Part 2 to his current series.

Loselte's Emporium under new management - grand opening of Xhiris' House of Stuff

s/loselte/Xhiris

There! That's much better.

Figured I would use my more common alias here on SG, I think this site's worthy of it. smile

So, if you've seen a "Xhiris" out there, and it's not in German, that's probably me.

There's most much of a story behind either name. Both were made by...

We may have been through this already, but Groton! Navy boys! Woohoo.

Anyway, I will be in Connecticut tomorrow and as of now plan on going to New Haven. You should really show up. I'm 18 and will probably be driving, so I don't drink.

I'm an uncle!

My brother and his wife just had a baby girl - they're both doing fine.

But I forgot what my niece's name is. smile

I think I'll let 'em get some rest, they've both been up for more than 24 hours already.
alienprincess:
congradulations!

another good word is Tulle, the name for a type of net fabric, since when you say,
"I need to buy more tulle." it sounds like tool, and welntaod says then "Honey we already have all the Tool available. "

Gods, I'm bored.

Could read more "Zodiac", but I feel more like *doing* something.

I sure don't feel like messing with "bills of materials" in Access again. Whoo. Joy. Rapture.

And I *definitely* don't want to go to the casino again.

Dinner at the Outback? Movie? Hm..

What do you folks do for fun? It's been a while since I've been able to, really?

I loved Snow Crash. Cryptonomicon was awesome too.

Got started on the books because of their cameo in Uru.

Of course the bastards cancelled Uru Live, but oh well.

alienprincess:
Neal stephenson is awesome-- I love "in the beginning was the command line" or whatever it's called. Also, of course, snow crash.
I tend to get exceedingly verbose when it comes to the tengwar/quenya
so here goes:
The tengwar in my profile pic say tariel elenion. so you got nearly the whole second word-- the i and o tehtar are smushed next to each other.
the first word tariel has the characters [tinco] with the a tehtar on top-3 dots in a triangle then [romen]with the i and e tehtar on top then [lambe]
tariel is a made up word--i.e. I made it up- tari-means pl. queens and -iel is the suffix in names meaning daughter of. elenion means of the stars in quenya, as seen in frodo's speaking in toungues frases in shelob's lair. In the books it's in the two towers in the movies it's in ROTK Frodo says: Aiya E`rendil elenion ancalima!" Elen is star, elenion is the pl. genitive--roughly of the stars. or Hey! Erendil, brightest of the stars! I forget what the real translation is and I'm too lazy to look it up.
I tend to be a bit free with my tengwar, since I think it's an art like caligraphy, and if you've ever seen some of the fancier caligraphy, you know what I mean.

right. Done with verbosity of now.
