31 Days of 13 Questions - Day 7

Day 7 - October 7th

1) Weird Science: It's time to piece together those Bette Davis eyes, Kelly LeBrock body, and Blake Lively personality for the ultimate creation! What pieces and parts would make your perfect partner?

Perfection is all in the brain and it's not about fitting into a box but rather being the best version of ourselves we can be as we contribute something different to the world than our neighbors or friends. If I must piece together a dope ride or die partner then I would surely find a suitable booty to squeeze and admire as well as the brains of a smarty pants nerd. The rest (color, height, curves, and all) would be fairly random versus intentionally chosen. Hey, I love an athletic trim but crush hard on some thickness in the curves from head to toe. Kelly LeBrock is a smashing babe from Weird Science, but I could just as easily choose anyone from this site and I'd be a suited up giddy young kiddy loaded on sugar nad horror on Halloween. Y'all would probably make the cut in this Frankenstein's Monster scenario. 🤷♂️

2) Re-Animator: It's green, it glows, and it brings the dead back to life with a hunger. Time to choose a famous person you want to bring back to life for the day.

In the spirit of the season, Edgar Allen Poe. Any other time of year I might have to decide a little harder and be indecisive for a few days while trying to figure out a top 10 before narrowing it down.

3) Young Frankenstein: Youth tend to make bad decisions and can create the worst situation with good intentions. What's something you tried to create or do that turned out a total mess like a Frankenstein's Monster with 4 arms and no head or a really horrible birthday cake that melted into a puddle straight from the oven?

I am sure I've had a few creations turn sour on me, but my most memorable one was attempting to make Mac n Cheese (the simple boxed stuff) and I burnt it because I was too busy gaming with friends and never got to feed them after that. Sure, I was really young, but that bummed me out so bad and embarrassed me when I was trying to impress my friends with food and games.

4) Frankenhooker: It turns out that building your dream woman/man or re-building her/him is an amazing idea, but the end results can vary. In this science fiction scenario, would you re-build your lover lost in a horrible accident just to have them back knowing their existence could be very bad for your health?

The smart answer would be, no, because that would be the kind of situation to turn bad really quick by playing God. The more likely answer would be yes because I'm sentimentally stupid for love and the people I care about.

5) Frankenweenie: It's alive! Time for a simple question of favorites. What is your favorite animated film that fits the spooky season?

I liked Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, but I just watched Star Wars Terrifying Tales and really enjoyed the horror references from Lost Boys to the Shining in it. I change favorites based on my mood all the time, but this one really hit the spot when I was feeling depressed this past week.

6) Deus Ex Machina – The God from the Machine: Creating artificial life isn't always about piecing together limbs. A modern twist to an old tale finds robots in place of the human-based monsters. Sex dolls, servants, and soldiers; is this very real research going to end up like Terminator or more like Wall-E (in your opinion)?

I like the idea of robots and artificial intelligence, but I think (especially now) with the way the modern world has turned into a warzone on poilitical and social fronts that we'd end up living in a real life version of Terminator. Create an AI to help humanity and it will see us as a poison even with good folks out there making a difference. Not everyone is bad, but there's enough turmoil and conflict with all the hard heads to cause a human created intelligence to think annihilation is the best course of action. Maybe we need to keep the AI limited (for now) and find ourselves first.

7) May: Would you give up a kidney, eye, or lung to finalize your masterpiece, your partner? Or would you give up let your creation rot as an inanimate failure? Think a little more crazy with horror film resonance versus using current reality based logic. Maybe it'd be fun to give a piece of oneself to build the perfect lover?!

It might be tempting if the end result would include a partner for my lonely ass, but the truth be told I would say no and not give into that idea however tempting it might be. I don't think the pain would be worth the actual result. It'd be one in a million that the effort and loss would actually create an outcome worthy of sacrifice for this situation.

8) Resident Evil: Not all monsters are birthed from pieces and parts of God's creatures but are an entire new species bred through genetic engineering and mutation. If the T-Virus could mutate the worst parts of yourself into a grotesque super-powered Mr X, what would you turn out to be? Be creative but not too harsh on yourself. (example: talking too much = an oversized mouth capable of devouring a human whole)

I'm shy at first and probably talk too much when I actually know a person. I also have no true filter and remain honest while also very loyal to the death even among those that neglect me. I'd probably turn out to be a silent monster that stalks in the shadows and devours victims whole while never giving up on the hunt no matter how long or tough it is to find that one particular victim (until the next one arrives).

9) [This question was lost and just added at this very moment so I'll make it simple] Have you seen the Ryan Reynolds movie "Boltneck"?

Nope.

10) Transexual Transvestite Diva: Rocky Horror Picture Show seems to be the most well known and celebrated horror/science fiction musical, but not everyone digs Frank-N-Furter. What's your favorite horror themed musical film/episode/play?

I can't think of any off hand. I enjoyed Dr Horrible, the musical episode of Buffy... there was a musical episode of Supernatural. I don't have a favorite, but I really enjoy seeing crazy musicals. Sweeney Todd was really dope. That might be my final answer, but there are a lot of close calls.

11) It's time to play DJ Dr Frankenstein with a song of your choice. What song would you bring to life as a full length film?

Lady Venom by Swollen Members. Although it is, obviously, inspired by some vampire films, it would be a really dope film if it became a full length creature feature.

12) Santo vs Dr Frankenstein: Tell us a little about your favorite Luchador (music, restaurant, wrestler, film, or anything at all).

I don't have a favorite necessarily, but there is a luchador themed bar (which is an offshoot of a Mexican Grill - same owners) that I really love. I don't drink, but they have some awesome guacamole and awesome luchador decorations from paintings to masks throughout the whole place. They sell the art, too, but it's always been out of my price range.

13) I've created a monster! What's the worst piece of advice you've given someone with good intention that was misinterpreted and turned this person into a monster (temporarily or permanently)?

Nothing. I give a bunch of advice that makes me sound (more often) like a Buddhist or hippie or even a sad romantic and most folks never really take my advice, to my knowledge. I'm always there do my friend thing with hugs and words of love and kindness, but I think my lack of experience in love make people question how great my advice really is. I'm not sure, though. I haven't seen anything horrible happen nor have I heard anyone say I had great advice either. 🤷♂️
