I just went to the corner store to buy a packet of yeast. Here is the conversation that took place:
Me: Do you carry yeast?
Saad: Eeeeeast?
Me: Yes, yeast, for baking.
Saad: Yes, that is what I said. Yeast, for making bread (makes hand gestures of kneading bread).
Me: Yes. Do you carry it?
Saad: You see, you are trying to live the traditional life. There is no place for the traditional life on Fillmore Street. Someone asked me a couple of months ago for yeast.
I had to go across the street to the opposing corner store that I only enter in moments of desperation. But they had yeast. Now I am living the traditional life. The bread machine will have my spelt/flax seed loaf ready at 7:00am precisely.
