My bank somehow mysteriously found my money.

It's a big relief, but I'm still pissed off that it took this long to cash a check that I thought I deposited THURSDAY.

Update: I called payroll to confirm that the first check cleared. The guy on the phone said "well, your personnel manager called yesterday to reissue it, right?" I told him she had, but that my bank had FOUND the first check. He told me "well, tell them they have a bad check, because we put a stop payment on it yesterday." But they don't. They cashed it already.

So now I've gotten two checks from Wal-Mart. I deposited both of them because I'm not sure what to do. I know the right thing to do is to cut a check for Accounting at work and tell them "hey, this is what happened, here is the money back". But man. That's an extra five hundred bucks. I could use an extra five hundred bucks.

I'm sure if I did keep it they'd find out eventually. Right? Wal-Mart is a big company that issues millions of paychecks every two weeks, but they're EXTREMELY cheap and anal about their money. Hm.
