It was an awesome bout, though. Everyone skated really hard and kicked ass. It sucks that we didn't get the season title but we've still got the best record so WE'RE STILL NUMBER ONE MOTHERFUCKERS.
(The "motherfuckers" above was not directed at the Delta Delta Die, who I love. It was just a general "motherfuckers" not directed at anyone in particular. ^_-)
The Violent Femmes lost to the Banger Sisters by a margin of thirty points, which also sucks. The Femmes only won a single game this season. I really wanted them to win another one. Even when they were skating against us I would've been happy if they'd won. BECAUSE I LOVE THE VIOLENT FEMMES. I love everyone on my league.
Well, almost everyone. ^_-
I hit a slump midseason and wasn't sure if I was going to continue with roller derby. My skill level seemed like it had kind of plateaued and I wasn't sure what to do about it. My captain decided to start putting me in as a blocker as well as a jammer and it helped SO MUCH. I'm really looking forward to going to some casual open skates during the off season to see what I can learn from the crazy jam skaters who are always at EVERY SINGLE OPEN SKATE I GO TO IN THE TWIN CITIES AREA SERIOUSLY. All these people do is roller skate. They are like sharks. If they stop roller skating THEY WILL DIE.
Now I can't imagine not going back. These last couple of bouts have been so much fun. Everyone has worked so hard and done so much to get to where we are. I am so proud of everyone in my league, to see how far they've come - to see how far I've come - and I'm so excited to see where next season takes us.
Come and watch the North Star Rollergirls hand each other their asses next season starting in October at our new venue, the Minneapolis Convention Center.

I've kind of hit that wall myself but not because of my skill level... hopefully I can stick it out. Two points is not a bad loss though!
