So my job is a very mixed one. I have a small team to look after, I have project work to accomplish and technical standards to write. This last week was fixing up Scripts, Lisps and VBA for the standards. My programming experience is pretty limited since I'm a Civil Designer not a programmer and the VBA looked like it was going to be painful...

…. in the new residence. First though it was a good week in that I made quite a bit of progress in updating the companies drafting system and standards. Everything was booked to be delivered on Saturday. I bought cutlery and Pots and Pans which I simply took home at lunch. I chose a china set to be delivered. On Saturday I waited for the...

My application for an apartment was accepted on Tuesday. I got the message after I went to an apartment viewing and got soaked :). Thursday I finally got an email that stated my furniture was on its way from Australia - I only have to wait another month until it goes into NZ Quarantine ;). In the meantime I am going to buy enough to...

I had a chat with my cousin who has moved internationally three times in his career. A three month wait for your goods is a low to average period even for short journeys followed by about a month in quarantine, in his experience. I just find it frustrating and ghastly, but it's not like it's something that I can do much about. I'm looking forward...

Today the weather was actually nice enough (and unoccupied enough) that I decided to go to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. On the way there I encountered a market stall selling glass bottles of Cherry Juice. Encumbered by a bottle, I explored the Museum again before returning whence I came :)

Waiting for the All Blacks to splatter the French Blues across...

This week applied for and had approved a local credit card :). Soon I'll be able to close the Australian Credit Card :). Now I have to prepare for the...

.... unless you count buying an overcoat, cardigan and new winter jacket because the morning temperatures have been colder than I'd like. I'm going to have to start house hunting soon because I'm getting antsy about where my furniture is. I did create a couple of extra lisp files for work but that's no real news :)
…. that comes from a week where you spent most of your time analysing other peoples work, analysing a new working program and trying to construct new macros. Now it's been years since I spent any time looking at macro scripts so it was a little draining however I managed to repair some of my companies macros and build two new macros :). Triumph! \o/...

Still waiting for my furniture to arrive, which is a little frustrating. Constructed a small "Basic CAD Training" draft manual for my new company which is reasonably satisfying. I still have 4 manuals in construction so I still have a lot to do. I've taken several photos with my phone (of scenery). Had my first decent fog in over 20 years, which was edifying :D....
