I'm kind of reluctant to post this, but I guess I'm going to do it anyway.

Once upon a time, I used to be religious. I was raised Catholic, and I used to believe. I prayed to a good to thought was listening, I had a cross that I wore, I even read the Bible. But somewhere along the lines, I lost my faith. I...

@cerebus666 You actually helped me figure something out by making me think about my motivations for this. My own mistrust of religion is why it's taken me so long to reach this point. But your comment helped me realize that it is a piece, however small, of my identity puzzle. So, thank you for that.

@wolfwood1203 You're welcome, my friend 😃!

A while ago, I got started on a writing project that I actually liked. I'm not going to get into the story right now, that's not the important part of this. The important part is that I stopped writing at some point.

I guess my mental health issues had a bit to do with it. And I've been struggling to get myself writing again. So,...

It's experiment time again. Still slowly branching into cooking more Mexican food, since that's what the family likes. I'm attempting some shredded chicken tacos this time. Yes, I cheated and I'm using a seasoning mix. But the chicken looks and smells pretty good so far.

Not sure what put the idea in my head, but I got the urge to listen to some Cauldron whine...

Terry Pratchett always said that burnt crunchy bits (BCBs) makes the best food. I have some “well loved” pans I love to cook with. That looks delicious.
wolfwood1203:
@fredhincanada Well, it's a rare meal that all 8 of us enjoy, but everyone liked it.

I'm not good at titles.

Well, for the first time in I don't know how many years, I have changed pant sizes. I just switched from a size 40 waist, to a size 36. It's a little tighter than I'd like, but it fits. How cool is that shit? I mean, realistically, the perfect fit is in-between the 36 and the 38, but they don't...

So, I'm currently cat sitting for my brother and the kids. They went to Vegas for the week to go to that festival that's happening. And I'm in charge of keeping their cat alive. I think the little orange monster must miss them a lot already, because she's been sitting with me all day. Including sitting on my head this morning. At least she's been...

I mean, other than thank you, obviously. I seriously don't know what I did to deserve this, but you guys are amazing. @cerebus666 @fredhincanada @jadestone Thank you so much. It really means a lot to me that you cared enough to help me out like you did. And it looks like I'll be around for another year after all. I guess that means I'll have...

Oh nice, now there's a countdown at the top of the page to remind me in out of here in 4 days. Subtlety is not their strong suit it would seem. @fredhincanada, @cerebus666 and to any others who comment a lot, thanks for making this place so cool. To those of you who just read these blogs of mine, I appreciate you too. It's not...

Many talk about "the community has to stay together and for each other" but we don't just talk - were doing it @wolfwood1203! In our opinion you're a good man 👍 that needed our help, so we're helping you 😃!

I just got an email from the site reminding me that I'm down to my last two weeks. I'm going to miss you all. It has it's good and downs, like anything else, but I love it here.

fredhincanada:
That’s depressing to me, too, my friend.
cerebus666:
We will miss you!

Alright, a bit of context first. So, I'm a Mexican American living in a border city. I grew up in the US, and have never been to Mexico. Which means, I don't speak any Spanish. This makes people here angry. Which in turn, made me refuse to learn. I've pushed away my people's culture because border city Mexicans are very different from actual Mexicans. I...

Thanks to the wonders of Xanax, tonight I went to the movies for the first time in 4 years. The last movie I went to see was Joker, pre-pandemic. I nearly got up and ran out of the theater for that one. Anxiety is fun that way.

But I had to try again, because I've always been a big fan of the Evil Dead series....

@headshot @bookcouple @fredhincanada Thanks. I guess I didn't really think about it like that. But I guess it's a good step, getting out to the theater. Even if I did have to take a Xanax...
wolfwood1203:
@narublu It was pretty good. A bit gory, so not for the squeamish, but I enjoyed it. I definitely prefer watching at home though.
