Lord of the Nerds part... whatever.

I'm totally going to cheat on this one. Sorry Fred. But here we go.

Tell us about a book you love.

I spent the last year and some change working on this story. I've written it, and I've read it more times than I can count.

That's right, I'm talking about The Ones Left Behind. It's a post apocalyptic sci-fi story set in a distant future Earth. In this world, humans have abandoned the planet, moving out into space to conquer new worlds. But not everyone managed to leave. Those who were left behind had to learn to adapt to their new world.

Generations later, a lone man wanders the still habitable areas of the Earth. He is always on the move, never stopping for more than a few days at a time. He's a man haunted by his past. A past he believes is actively hunting him. He's been isolated from what's left of the world, completely alone for half his life.

Another survivor reaches out via radio transmission. She has always been alone, and desperately wants companionship. But her calls only fall on deaf ears, until one day, the man hears her call out.

She will do anything she can to help keep him safe as he navigates the wasteland, and his own past.

Does that sound interesting? I certainly hope it does. Because it's finally available in paperback and ebook versions. The Ones Left Behind

This was a labor of love, if ever there was one. I was, I admit, incredibly naive about the process that was in store for me. I thought that writing a novel was going to be the hardest part. Then I started editing. And then I began the search for a cover illustration (with no luck until I asked someone I didn't want to). Then I started the graphic designing process, and formatting, and reformatting. With the exception of getting the initial artwork that became the cover, I have worked through this entire process completely alone.

And I am proud of what I accomplished. I've never pursued anything for myself. Until now. And I genuinely believe that the finished product is worth your time.

Of course, that doesn't mean that I didn't have support. One friend I've known since high school has always been incredibly supportive of my writing. And some of you from this community as well. @cerebus666, @fredhincanada, I hope you don't mind that I did this.

If you made it this far, I love you for that. If my book interests you, I'd be grateful to you for buying a copy. If you can't, I'd be just as grateful for you sharing that link with anyone you know who might be interested, or a mention in a blog post that might reach more people... just saying.
