You can back the new Bards Tale on kickstarter.  Any pledge of at least $20 gets emulated versions of the original trilogy, plus they are working to get III updated for current PCs or Macs.  They've made their goal and still have 21 days for stretch goals.  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/the-bards-tale-iv

I still have my C64, but the disk drive quit around 1990.  There was a local company that still repaired them in the mid to late 90s, but I was broke at the time.  I had the original Bard's Tale for mine, too.  btw, and the Internet Archive has all three.  They supposedly run directly in your browser.  https://archive.org/details/softwarelibrary_msdos_games?%2Fv2=&and[]=bard%27s%20tale
