This has been one of the better weeks of the year so far, largely because my physical pain levels have been relatively low compared to what has been the norm lately. So this lead me to get out a little more this week, going out to Bushwick Public House to try (largely unsuccessfully) to write Thursday night and Gortham City Lounge to hang a bit with some familiar faces.
Also started getting things together to work on a print run of the Deviant Life strips of 2019 in hopes of having some physical copies of the comic in my hands in time for summer. If I thought I had the know how and connections to host an art show in just over three months, I'd try to make everything come together to celebrate my birthday in June with the Discerning Deviant art show serving also as a birthday party and comic release party. I'm a big fan of synergy. However, I don't have that much faith in my competence.
As far as reading goes, I finished "Eternal Night" by Jade Kerrion (a science-fantasy story about the post-apocalyptic remains of humanity being herded by vampires) and "Love, Retold" by Tikva Wolf fame (illustrated musing on her polyamorous relationships from a deeper, more intimate place than where she generally shares from in her ongoing webcomic, Kimchi Cuddles). The former was light and adequately enjoyable, the latter was brief but moving and something I'd recommend to other polyamorous folk.
