I finished 23rd in the World Poker Tour's Invitational yesterday, and I was also the last "celebrity" player left in the field (by a long shot, too. I think Danny Masterson went out in the 30s) so I get $10,000 to donate to a charity.

I chose the City of Hope Cancer Hospital in Duarte, CA, because they saved my friend's life two years ago.

a) The executive can police itself, and;

b) The executive's measures for insuring the protection civil liberties must remain secret.. You know, to protect America.

It is a testament to how far our educational system has fallen that more people aren't outraged by this.

I'm really late to the party on the Sin City graphic novels, but holy shit are they good.

I'm in Chapter Four of book three right now, and there's a good chance I'm going to just buy the lot of them next time I'm at the bookshop.

Does anybody even care that between 28088-31676 Iraqi citizens have died, and at least 42,500 have been injured so far. Apparently 37% of these are from U.S Forces.

America has seen the death of 2235 soldiers and 16155 officially wounded. I used the official count because the estimated ones varied too greatly (between 15000 and 48100).

I got both these numbers off of anti-war sights, so I'm sure the numbers have been exaggerated a bit, but I imagine that they're at least semi-close to the truth.

I've been playing Nethack, which is essentially Diablo without all the cool graphics and multi-player action.

My kid is CRAZY for Diablo II, though, which is really nice because it gives us one of those things I can use as an excuse to hang out together.
