I made a new Podcast. This one is really long, about 37 minutes, but the feedback on it is very positive, so maybe I'm not the best judge of what rules and what sucks.
read the Salon article.... I hate to see that kind of stuff happen, but at least he came to you after to smooth things over. He only dose it because he cares. If you were just some schlep off the street he probebly would've just shruged it off (not that I presume to know you dad). I take that same stance here whit politics. I only agrue with the people who's opinions I care about. That and parents never stop seeing their children as children I don't think.
Funny how people change, isn't it? I think the oddest has to be David Horowitz. Editor of the righty site frontpagemag.com. He was born and raised comunist, now he's conservative.
"Strength lies not in being steadfast for your ideology, but in entertaining the possibility that the other guy may be right."
I liked "Lakeside Shadow." I'm going to pass it along to a friend of mine who is composes industrial music. He's a trek fan too, but I'm not too sure who he feals about your old character. He used to stream shows from his website, Darksonic.com, but he's been in semi retirement for a while now. He's kind of my musical Obi wan Kanobi....
Hey Wil. I also read the Salon article, and it really struck a familiar note. I've seen the same thing happen in my family. The week Hurricane Katrina happened, my conversations with my grandmother (who raised me) were almost in agreement -- shock and outrage at the government's reaction and sympathy for the victims. A few months later, however, she's calling them 'bums' and 'freeloaders', implying that the crime rate has gone up wherever they are housed, and saying that, if there were any incompetence, it was the mayor of New Orleans and the governor of Louisiana.
The interesting thing is she doesn't even listen to talk radio or watch Fox News -- she gets this crap from fucking email forwards of mysterious (and suspicious) origin. They're passed on by her friends and people from church, so she believes them! And even if I refute the whole thing point by point, she'll just say "Well I've just got to go with my gut."

Well, what can you do?
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
