Grind House. A film from Quentin Tarantino & Robert Rodriguez. And it's definitely the film I'm most excited about right now. Being shot in Texas soon on all digital equipment. Two seperate stories, each an hour long (so two-three reels each). In California, Quentin's hour will be first. In Texas, Robert's. Everywhere else, you kinda get to choose if you're putting the film together. And they're enlisting buddies and directors they've never met, asking them if they want to add in a five-minute short or an imaginary trailer here or there. Post-production will make it look like The Manchurian Candidate after two days in our theater 3 projector -- as nasty and scrawled with dirt and scratches as anything you could ever see. Bad splices will remove lines of dialogue that they don't want you to hear. It's all in all, fucking brilliant.
And hopefully, after this, Robert, Frank, and Quentin will get to work on Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. Hopefully a certain Mr. Depp will get to do the film this time (fucking Libertine prevented him from being Jackie Boy in the first one -- go figure his old buddy and Fear And Loathing co-star Benecio Del Toro took over). There's really only one story he could do, that fits his type of character and also looks even slightly like him. Longhair from Hell And Back.
I'm still confused on how exactly they're going to do A Dame To Kill For and keep Dwight as Clive Owen. Y'see, Dwight looks like Clive because of plastic surgery when his ex-girl shoots him in the face. However, Dwight beforehand looks like a ridiculously fit Joe Pantiliano. So that's a rather big speed bump.
Ah, nothing like a good movie rant to relax oneself.
