So as I mentioned in a previous post I spent 7 years in the Army. I did 3 tours over in the Middle East, 2 in Afghanistan and 1 in Iraq. These pictures are the aftermath of an ambush while I was in Iraq. No American or Coalition soldiers were killed this day.
Convoy lining up.
Stryker litterally got tossed off of the road by an IED blast. No explosive damage do to IED being buried to deep in the ground.
Some of my soldiers after the fight posing with the flipped Stryker.
RPG Damage.
Close up of RPG damage.
Husky got rocked by a secondary IED.
Crater from secondary IED blast. The steel plate was under thr bomb to direct the explosive energy straight up.
Hummer shot up pretty good by small arms fire. Its being repaired (this is from when we got back to the FOB or forward operating base).
So there you have it. Because I walked away from situations like this on more than one occation I have learned to never take life for granted.
