ok, so i didn't notice that the driveway i was turning into had a 2 inch higher difference than the road. the front wheel slid one way i went the other. 
made it the rest of the way to work and had the plant nurse look at the damage. by this time my shin had a lump the size of a softball and about 4-5 cut/scrapes. after last night what's a few more bruises,eh?
