The Crash exercise was cancelled today because it was raining outside That is the Air Force for you though....I was looking forward to working in the mud, but alas - the Wing Commander was afraid of ruining his freshly pressed combats Thats ok though...gave me time to tend to a patient who specifically asked for me.........

This young pilot came in about 3 months ago becaue of a hernia. Well - after months of dealing with it, he was refered to surgery and just had it done last week. I was in the back when I heard "Is Grasshopper here today?" and the secretary told him "Yes - but she is busy...I'll go get you another medic". "Nope - I'll come back later to see her". But as he was saying that I popped my head out to say hi and it made my day to see him smile the biggest smile ever. You see - he and I have a special bond because before he went in for his surgery he was trying to get out of it because of the scar it was going to leave on his abdomine, but I told him that there were lots of people on the base who had scars - he just never saw them. "Name one to me then" So I told him of my Kidney surgeries and he was in amasment that he never knew about it. I just said to him "See - nobody will ever know about your scar unless you tell them yourself" and that sealed the deal for him to have the surgery

It was a good day despite the fatigue and all - but I did manage to get 4 hours sleep last night so it is a start

So after almost 2 weeks of insomnia..................................
