Story of the day..........

People, people, people..........Do me a favor and really prepare yourself for the next time you receive a needle ok? mad

Today I was giving a routine allergy shot to a patient who I have come to label as "Twitchy". I always know that as I stick him with the needle, that he is going to jump slightly. Well - I don't know what his problem was today because just before I was about to insert the needle, he flinched and knocked the needle into my finger eeek It was just a tiny poke (thank God the needle hadn't gone into anyone) but I had to throw the entire dose - needle and all - in the Haz Mat bin and draw a freash dose. whatever All he said was "oops - sorry. hee hee hee" All I kept thinking to myself was "check the medication to see if there is any penicillin in it" otherwise I would have gone into anyphylaxic shock eeek In the end - he got his shot, I got a micro dose of "hayfever" allergen and that was thatwink

I used to be a blood donor and I used to love going in to give blood. Once I went in and after they had taken the needle out I didnt apply enough pressure to my arm so when I took the cotton swab away I produced quite an impressive spurt. The nurse looking after me was like "Oh my god!" but I thought it was so cool.

I had to give it up in the end though cos I'd be sick for a week afterwards. My body obviously has serious objections to blood loss. biggrin

Hahaha. I did that to an ex boyfriend once but that's totally another story. blush wink
