Story of the day........
LOL - I have always thought of myself as a "Big Girl". Now I don't mean like "heavy" (although I do weigh more than most guys
) but rather "tall". At least I thought that 5' 5" was tall. I am a pretty solid girl for the most part, but today I found myself in a couple of settings that seemed to prove me wrong.
First thing in the morning, it is my job to check out the Ambulance to make sure it is road safe
This includes the siren, lights, horn, radio etc..... Well - today was the first day that I was challenged with checking the oil in the ambulance. *Giggles* seems rather easy right??? Don't forget that this thing is a 4x4 box ambulance
I had to physically climb into the underhood area to reach the damn thing
If only I could have seen my SGTs face as he pulled into work to find me sitting in the engine (on top of the battery) checking the oil

All he did was say "Grasshopper, what are you doing?" as he looked at me like I was a child getting into mischief. All I did was smile back and say "Nuthin" - which was follwed by a little giggle
Once that task was finished for the morning, I was asked by the Medical clerk to give her a hand reaching some documents on the top shelf of the filing cabinet. The first sign of trouble was when (even standing on my tippy toes) I could barely even catch the corner of one of the files. I looked over at her and gave her a coy little smile and said "I'll be riiiiiiiight back"
and was on my way. Now being a hospital, we also have some physiotherapy equipment around, so you can just imagine what the clerk was thinking when I reappeared with a mini trampoline in hand. "Oh good lord - you're not going to do what I think you're gonna do.........are you?"
"All I ask is that you stand back" I told her and began to bounce

In the end - I retrieved the documents, was able to check the oil in the ambulance, and prove to everyone in the clinic that I am all about getting the job done...........and having a little fun doing it
"I'm not short.......................I'm vertically challenged"

Hope you all had a great day

Kisses
