Story of the day............
Well - this is it. My last journal entry before I take off for the week to do some wedding stuff with Piratepete. I wish I could say that I was excited but I have been so swamped with work that I just haven't had time to stop and think about the trip. I haven't even packed yet which is really unusual for me since I normally pack 5 days ahead for fear of forgetting somthing. Now I have other things that I need to worry about as well
For the past couple of days I have been asked to go over and update my Deployment Readiness forms "just incase". Sure it is a good thing to do and keep updated at all times but today I found out that I will be going on a field exercise in October with the Army Reserve unit that is training for deployment to Afghanistan right after Christmas. I don't understand why they would ask the few of us to go out with them if they have their own Medics (granted that they are not trained to the level that us Reg Force members are) but this is starting to tip me off that there may be a trip overseas in my future yet. I was asked if I have done weapons training in the last year (no - since I am on an Air Force base) and if I had all of my battle kit. Not a good sign if you ask me. Oh well - if they send me then it is my duty to go over and try to make a difference. Will I like it.........I'm sure that I will grow fond of certain things . Am I scared??? A month ago I woulda said yes - now I am getting angry. If Im going then so be it - but don't hang it over my head as a maybe. I am ready to go - I accept the fact that it is my job, but tell me yes or no so I can prepare mentally.

Yeah, I think being in limbo is the hardest thing. Even if it's bad news, at least you can deal with it, start to prepare for it, and move on. Hang in there. And have fun with the wedding preparations!!

Wow... so much is happening! You have to keep us posted! Especially wedding stuff... hmmm....
