Story of the day..............
The Canadian Armed Forces declares that you meet the CF level of fitness standards and futher more are found to be fit for your MOC
Yipee
I should be really happy that I passed my yearly fitness test but here I sit typing this PISSED OFF!!
You see - there is a minimum standard that all soldiers must meet....then there is the exemption standards which excuses a soldier from the test for the following year.
So here is how it goes down.......
Push Ups - I did over double the required amount thus meeting exemption standards
Sit Ups - Almost tripled the standards
Grip Test - Almost doubled the standard
*Sighs* The Shuttle Run - I met the minimum standard with no problem, and then (34 seconds before meeting the exemption standard) my knee gave out
Nothing serious or anything, but enough to knock me off my pacing and caused me to be pulled off the track by the Trainer
My Sgt said that I should be proud of the test because of the past 6 months coming back from the torn ligament, but I am not one to be satisfied with "standard"
I want to go above and beyond what is expected of me and this just did do it for me
I guess I should be thankful that I passed because there is a 40% failure rate at my base for this test but WHY????? I have been working my ass off to get exempt and now I feel like I failed! Oh well - better luck next year
Hope you are having a better day than I
