Here's a couple pics of the thruxton with the latest work. '97 CBR600F3 fork uppers & internals in the stock triumph lowers. ZRX1200 shocks. A while back I got a stock bonneville seat & had it recovered to mimic the old ones a bit. I'm using the original thruxton seat pan to make a new solo seat with some storage inside instead of the seat with a cover to look like a solo. I powder coated some stuff on the front end including some clamps I cut out of the honda's triple clamp so I could use them to mount the headlight which gained me room to lower the clip-ons an inch or two
. Also powder coated the front brake fluid resevoir which came from some yamaha v-star rear brake. Polished the triple clamp, clip-ons, gauge plate, headlight brackets, rear brake lever & gearshift lever.
First one is kinda dark, but it shows both sets of forks prior to taking them apart and my carpeted dirt-floor garage which kicks much ass
Here's some of the stuff between paint stripper to remove clearcoat and sanding/polishing
My polishing isn't as perfect as it appears here. Thank the sunset for the effect.
Here's the whole bike
Way more importantly, the new suspension ROCKS! -Especially the forks, what a difference. The wobbly front end in high speed turns appears to be a thing of the past. A few familiar bumps that used to be unnerving now have me giggling with joy. Feeling under the weather today mr. "manhole in the middle of the corner"? Because I hardly recognized you!

Yeah, it's the m/c that came with these calipers, both from a 1983 GPz with the antidive. I pulled the antidive stuff off, so it's straightforward: m/c to splitter to two hoses to the calipers. I tried using my stock LTD m/c, then the GPz m/c and got the exact same results...
bonneville:
I hoping I can get 500,000 miles out of the engine
