I thought I'd make everyone jealous & share with you a day at work. It's really nothing more than thinly diguised play as you will see.
First we have my two helpers Justin and Bilozs getting a boat lift ready for the water. These attach to a person's slip, they raise and keep the boat out of the water so it doesn't get the crap growing on it.
Next, I'm towing an old hoist I bought from one marina to its new home in another marina. You can see how crappy this thing looks compared to the new one in the picture above. If the boat had been sitting in the water ten years it would look a lot like this. to the right you can see a couple boats that are up on hoists.
So basically, I spent the next 4 hours doing this:
Yes mine is a tough life, but I manage to struggle through it. Well, it's not always this easy really. Ask me how much fun it is in August when it's 115 degrees (and HUMID over the water when there's no breeze) and I'm covered in duck shit. And I just smashed a finger. Ok, it's still a whole lot of fun. But I reserve the right to complain about the horseflies on occasion. Because I really have nothing else to complain about whatsoever.

I have an industrial-strength bum. It wasn't sore, just colorful.

I used to live along the Gulf Coast in Louisiana so I can relate to that heat and humidity thing. Especially thinking back when I would be out fishing ... whew ...the gnats, horseflies, mosquitoes would eat your ass up at certain times of the day. The first job I ever had was working at a marina, The Sea Way Marina located in Laffite, La. Just wondering though; where does all that water come from being your in Nevada?
