Today is 3 years without a drink or drug
. Not a big deal unless you want to quit more than anything else in life but cannot. So Hooray for me! -Actually it's Hooray & thanks to everybody who's gone out of their way to give me a hand or advice or just set a lead for me to follow.
In other news, I fear that I must go see this "lords of dogtown" crap. It looks awful contrived and cheesey, but I guess Stacey Peralta wrote the script? Hopefully Jay & Tony will get some money out of the deal also. The "Dogtown & Z-boys" documentary (that spawned this new film) was a phenominal film, to me it puts it's finger right on the character of America that I love so much. Rebellious youth and do-it youself gusto. I understand that when some people see the flag they see Nike and Mcdonalds and the Corporate pasturizing of world culture. Personally, I picture Rob Tyner of the MC5 wrapped in the flag smoking a joint with a look on his face that says: "This belongs to us, and not just the flag mister. You are old and tired and scared of living. You cannot take this from us, you'll never get within 20 feet of it. God will hit you with lightning if you don't choke on that lump in your throat."
How did I get on this subject today? What in the hell is the matter with me? Will this get me kicked out of the Conservative group? I am most assuredly a free-market capitalist, mind you. I just have some respect for the radical left of the past, that's all. They had a sense of humor and a sense of life and vitality. Today it seems like everybody (on both sides) is pleading for the government to please do this for us or please allow us to do that. Seems kinda pathetic and whiney is all.
