it was this me that the sky greeted and watched as i roamed downtown in every direction, seeking love and lust and finding at least one of them everywhere i turned. it was this me that cut the path of the world in two, cleaved it as i made my way everywhere. it was displaced and empty as ever, yes, and perhaps even more so...

[i hate being shy in the way that i am because, when i tell stories like this, people always refuse to believe i can behave as shy as i do sometimes.]
I had just finished watching a rather delightful woman's set at Stumptown Downtown and was about to leave to go see Bronwyn when I spotted her.
I met her on a bus after a...

man, introversion is like a disability in this ridiculous extroverted society we live in. i can be pretty introverted at times, and i always feel like none of these crazy outgoing people around me could possibly feel as dorky as i do most of the time. why does meeting people have to be so exhausting? anyway, this is my way of saying i feel your pain.
From Moleskine 1, on the MAX earlier tonight
In the pocket at the back of this notebook is a bluejay feather I once found somewhere unimportant. Next to it is a flattened flower a woman named Charlie gave me once in the south Park blocks.
I want to believe these two fragile items hold some significance to me, but they probably don't. They're probably just...

i decided to sleep in today, and the world still sucked when i woke up.

Outside my belly? But all important emotions happen inside it.
this should be the time when i sit down, doused in the smell of smoke from some stupid endeavor and wax whatever about the state of the world or the delineations of social stratii or some shit like that.
not tonight.
this could be the time when i tell you about what i don't know about women (which, believe me, is a long sit-down-and-tell), presenting...

Would you opt for a bucket of cold water thrown in your face, smelling salts, or a strange homeless man running around your house while on fire? All three work exceptionally well for me when I'm on the muzzy side.

I want to make mix cd's for people. Let me know if you want one. I'll pay shipping.

i need to be good-looking, i guess. or do drugs. or drink alcohol or smoke.
i'm beginning to realize my complete dearth of cool has its drawbacks.

Oh, but I agree, I so do! I know its a silly idea but I dont care, it feels right. That would explain so many things...

good point about how terrible and wrong almost all portrayals of all groups of people are in the mainstream media. Even straight white men get to be portayed as stereotypically dumb and thoughtless. I just started reading "Reel to Real: Race, Sex, and Class at the movies" by bell hooks, I wanted to get a view of the way the media portays other groups than my own.
And thank you for the perspective. Most of the time I can remember that what is on the media doesn't have to affect me and isn't "real", but sometimes it's frustrating. I should just watch less TV.

i'm tired, soon-to-be unemployed again, confused, cranky, and afraid.
for once, i'm not in any way horny, perhaps the first time after i've gotten laid that i have no desire for sex.
i say this with the utmost of seriousness...something is very, very wrong with me.
(did i mention i got laid for the first time in five months last week? and somehow, i'm even...
