housesitting is a managable kind of loneliness made comforting by the fact that i haven't felt completely at home anywhere in the past five years.
home.
John Lithgow, in his inimitably manic (and perpetually unreconized), brilliant performance in The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai tosses off the throwaway one-liner "home is where you wear your hat." since college, really, i've had places where my stuff sits in boxes and bags, places where i can sleep and eat (for which I feel extremely fortunate and grateful, make no mistake), but no real place I can semi-permanently call my "home."
I've been trying very hard to think of a future, a real future and not just the stupid, abstract ideas which seem to be the only thing that comes these days, and none still seems to be coming to mind. With my money dwindling and my options still minimal, I think I'm going to need to think a little harder.

disdain:
maybe you need to stop thinking so much.
thistle:
ahhh home. without a traditionally defined family unit, or any family unit for that matter, what is home? where you live? where you feel comfortable? some place you love? none of these? some people don't feel comofrtable anywhere. maybe home is just being among those you care about. aaacgh.
