I had a fun day today. ZapBranagan was working early and I needed the car so Neko and I got up at 6:30 (we normally sleep till 8:30) and drove him to work. After I dropped Neko off at my friend's place (we swap childcare), I stopped and got a latte (a treat for me) then came home to get to work (I am a freelance writer and I own a store - we have employees full-time and while I do go in a few times a week I mainly market from home). I soon got a call from my neighbour a few houses down. "Lindsay!" she said. "I need your help!" It turns out there was a baby owl in her next door neighbour's yard and she was guarding it because magpies were trying to peck it. I called a wildlife rehabilitation centre then ran down there with a box in case it was injured and we needed to transport it. As we got close, it opened its eyes and flew into a nearby tree. It was so FREAKING CUTE!!! It was about 8-10 inches high.
That was the highlight of my day, although I accomplished a lot which was awesome, and we had chicken quesadillas and double crunch bumbleberry crisp for dinner which was also awesome.
I also wanted to share this video. It's of a veteran speaking at the testimony on Maine's marriage equality bill in April. So well said!

Oh, and welcome to SG.
