Good god, I just can't fucking win.
So I take a friend's advice and ask out a girl that I don't really know. I mean, I've talked to her a few times, enough to know that I wouldn't mind seeing more of her but not enough to really know that much about her, so I ask he if she'd like to get dinner together or something sometime. She says maybe, right away I'm thinking "Uh-oh, that means no" but we exchange emails. That night she gives me her cell phone number (in the email) and says I can leave a message if I want, so I do in the morning, I ask if she's busy the next day. She says she might be busy and she gives me her home phone number, so know I'm thinking, "Ok, maybe I just surprised her seeing as how we haven't rally talked much, but I've got her phone number and no girl's ever given me her number so things look good."
So I giver her a call tonight to see if she's doing anything, she is, but we talk for like 15 minutes basically just getting to know each other before her friend calls. So we hang up and I check my emails and there's one from her in there, so I respond and ask her if she'd like to go to lunch tomorrow since I forgot to when we were on the phone, then she tells me that she likes talking to me but she's seeing kind of someone, but it's off and on and that I did surprise her when I asked her on a date but then she springs the friendship line on me, even saying that I'm the newest friend she has.
I can't fucking believe it, I get the friend line from someone I hardly even know do I just have a huge fucking sign that says "Friend's only material" sticking out of my back or something? Fuck this is getting incredibly tiring, what the hell am I supposed to do. I'm not really mad at her, and I really could use a new friend, I don't have that many, but shit what the fuck I just want to go on some dates, is that too much to ask for?
The only solace I can take from this is that she actually means she wants to be friends, which is better than getting the friend line from someone, then having them never speak to you again.
