I've noticed that, although most people know who I am now, when I was first meeting people off SG they didn't seem to make the connection between my profile and the person who they met. I think it's probably because I look a whole lot better in my photos than I actually do regularly. And thus, for your viewing pleasure (or more appropriately pain) here...

I just got home from my weekend in Hervey Bay. It was actually really nice to see my parents again. My mum has the coolest new glasses! I'd show you but she wouldn't let me take a photo of her and my dad's hair has grown a fair bit.

Mum's house is beautiful and ordered as it always has been (she's a Virgo), it made...

It would be so lovely to have a house that's peaceful.. virgo conection, she and I. Anyway - sounds like a pretty relaxing getaway (minus the parents, who are usually a complete stress out from my experience surreal ) Ex has a new girlfriend hey? - she'll never be as good as you were. Those are the rules. And the one before you - she was a bitch. biggrin

It's probably about time I updated.

I had a fantastic weekend and I want to say thankyou to all involved: You guys rock, and hard. A special thanks goes to Speedway74 for letting me stay at his place; to Rook for having me stay the following two nights; and of course to Leothedriver for driving so carefully while I was in the car. There are...

Left the house yesterday - go me!

I went to a Creative Industries movie night with Rook in the early evening. They showed the Director's cut of Donnie Darko, I hadn't seen the Director's cut and Rook hadn't seen it at all. Personally I think I like the original release better than the Director's cut but I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with...

Nice work leaving the house.

I think most people agree with you on the directors cut...at least, the people I know do. I like that they spell shit out for you though. I loved the movie when I only understood about half of what was going on, and gleaned the rest off the internet...but at least the new one makes more sense.
I hear his new movie is having some similar problems...back in for retooling, evidently. Everyone hates it. Bah.

I try my best not to be boring...

Really I do.

Godo for you on QC I belive everyone should read it, good for the soul.

Dylan won't stop sounding so sad on the phone.

As of yesterday I am a single woman. Splitting with my boyfriend of the past twelve months seems not to be the clear clean simple break I had hoped for. Dylan is my best friend, my best friend who's girlfriend I've taken away. I'd really like a good dose of simple in my life.

Step away...

Well, there were a couple of requests to read some of my work (I'm assuming to verify that I'm actually a writer rather than just someone who picked the angstiest occupation). So here I present the "micro-fiction" The Clock's Drift:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

The afternoon sky is pale, almost blinding when considered. The air around you is...

Hmmm, haven't re-read that story in ages and realised how verbose it is... I don't think I actually like it anymore...
blodkin:
Yeah...maybe a little long-winded for a page long story (I'm not enough of a writer to say 'verbose'). But you still seem to know what you're doing. I liked it, if for no other reason than that it sets a good scene. Thanks

I just wrote 196 words that weren't for Uni. That's 196 words more than I have done for quite a while. Re-reading it is 196 words that have been put together fairly poorly and saying basically nothing. A character studying their hands and playing a computer card game for 196 words.

The last short story I wrote was for Creative Writing: The Short Story; that's...

Yes would love to read them. I understand if we are not allowed. Only your truest friends or people you feel a creative attachment with should see these. Heres crossing my fingers.

It's been a slow day; I spent a lot of time thinking about writing. No actual writing came about but I did think about it.

I've been irritable all day, so I hid in my room to avoid snapping at one of my housemates. That's left me feeling a bit listless, coupled with complete lack of productivity for the day... I do believe I should...

Thanks for the note...and the company (though fuck if I know what you meant)

You spell favorite with a 'u', so you're cool with me.
blodkin:
...also, I didn't write today either. Welcome to the club...I'll be here all year.

Ugh, no I don't have the attention span for this right now. But I do love She Wants Revenge. Great band, they're making me feel much better. So much like Interpol.

She likes dicso and tastes like a tear.

Hi there, nice to see a new Brisbainite. Welcome smile
rennison:
Yeah, stupid emo stereotype.

I loooove She Wants Revenge.
And I always thought they sounded
like Interpol. But Interpol, especially
Paul Banks, is signifacantly more
attractive than She Wants Revenge.
