Gig was great. A bundle of stress getting ready during the day and only getting 15mins to set-up and soundcheck (Whilst Sunn0))) took about an hour and a half.)
New drummer's working out great, even if the silly little fucker was beating himself up about one dropped stick. (I lost count of my fuck-ups during the set, but I think the count was somewhere around six).
After we played, I finally got to meet AnnaLee in the flesh, which was nice.
During Sunn0))) themselves, I found my attention wandering. One suspects that alcohol is not the drug best suited to the Sunn0))) experience. They were loud, but not as loud as I'd expected, and whilst there were nuances, I really didn't have the patience to appreciate them. I'll stick to my earlier assessment of "overhyped, tuneless wank"!
Oh, but a hangover, four hours sleep and a day at work is not a happy funtime combination.

i first saw them when they were the support for Goatsnake. no hoods and cloaks, no hype and no music press over excitement, just solid drone!!
a great act to open for non the less, you desreve to be chuffed!
