Isn't it strange how the year is flying by so quickly. I realise that this is a cliched thing to say, but with each passing year, little by little, time seems to speed up.

I am not sure how to account for the past two and a half months. How did I get from A to B (in terms of temporal, rather than spatial, journeying)?...

Ah! How quickly the weekend flies by!

I have spent most of my weekend reading. I have finished reading "Master Of The World" by Jules Verne. The book concerns a police inspector's attempts at apprehending a mad genius who has created a vehicle which is capable of travelling on land, on water under the water and in the air. The vehicle is also capable of...

I totally agree with you.

when I was young I don't really remember being less busy yet I still had way more time to read.

now, if anything, on top of all my other worries, I worry over when I will find time to read a particular book. biggrin

I ARRR!!! Dune - 'tis a staggering piece of sci-fi piracy

as per broken wine glasses: I was washing dishes with such nervous energy that the mouth (of said wine glass) shattered in my hand - taking a sliver of my index finger

Greetings again one and all!

Has anyone seen Metropolis? I have finally got around to buying a copy of it and wow, I have no regrets. For an old silent movie made in the 1920s, it is remarkably accessible. As a critique of capitalism / industrialism it is still as relevant as ever and I just love the biblical allusions, such as the comparison of...

i know what you mean. not really in that i'm not sure whether i'm dreaming or not while i'm asleep, i have very strange dreams, so i'm aware even while i'm dreaming them that i'm not awake, but i often have doubts that my whole life hasn't been a long dream. then i think i don't really care either way.
hellocentral:
have you ever gotten intensely angry at someone because they're so attractive and you don't know them and you can't talk to them and you know you'll never see them again and they don't care because they have no idea who you are??? mad agh.

Here is a strange dream which I had a few years ago. Fortunately, I wrote an account of the dream and emailed it to one of my brothers so I can now paste it here for your entertainment. In my dream I was one of a small group of teenagers/young people staying in caravans (or chalets, I am not sure which) in Scotland, somewhere near...

I hadnt hear of those incidents before...its sickening, people can be so disturbed. I can understand the basics of such thought patterns- people believe in something very strongly, theyre prepared to do whatever they must to attract the public and media attention to their cause because in the world as it is, youll have to go a long way in order to be noticed at all; but still, if theyd really hold the places holy, I dont think theyd be able to act in such a short-sighted and violent manner. Bah, what do I know, people are fucked up, mostly. I still wish I could do my "sacred sites of the British isles"-tour before any self-righteous asses manage to destroy all of them. mad

Im in fact not flooded with friend requests for the simple reason of an auto-decline. tongue Im sorry to say that I dont really add people to my friends list these days unless I know them or have been talking to them a lot- youre free to bookmark my journal musings however, and what little Ive read from your journal so far sounds interesting, so Im hoping for more interesting talks in the future. smile

I don't have much to say right now, so in a shameless attempt at distracting your attention from this fact, I have decided to quote you some song lyrics.

White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all.
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall....

As for the headache, some stretching, water drinking and fresh air usually do the trick for me.

Well, here we are again. The Fire Safety training was very interesting. It was great to learn about the various ways that your maintenance personnel inadvertantly reduce the effectiveness of your fire doors etc. Here's my top tip for today - when buying a smoke detector for the home, an optical detector is preferable to an ionisation detector on account of the fact that ionisation...

"co-conspirators with God"
Conspiring to cause this thing called lifeof all the habitual frames of reference you could have used, co-creator, co-contributor, co-collaborator, etc
That made me laugh.
Here we are sitting at a smoky card table, us and god, rubbing our hands together excellent.

Speaking of excellent, spot on sentiment by the way; Somewhere tickling the back of my mind I hear the echoing of truth. I cant understand it and may never, but excited just the same.

Try this axiom on It is not what we know, but what we yes

Knowledge must be acted on to be empowered or pertinent, knowledge alone without using or following through is analogous to no instead of yes.

Any who, I have been chagrining lifes little paths as of late, stupid people, and lack of compassion putting these into the context of divine plan helps to placate my blues, yet I cant help but feel like Ive got to do something? What this is I have yet to know or yes.

Cheers, Ill stay in touch same to ya'

We are all part of an unfathomable whole, the describing of which takes away its definition. There are endless interconnected patterns; our actions are tremors along the threads of a cosmic spider's web..... and damned if it isn't hard to break a thought pattern once you've ascribed to it.

I can see mistakes I've made coming back as if to ask me to make them again and again. I refuse to do this and struggle against it. Yet I know full well that I must be as a stone in a stream, touched but not moved.

On an aside note, Zelator, I realized belatedly that my comments in my journal about the meat pinata may have offended your vegan self. My apologies for being an insentive brute.

I wont be around for a couple of days as I will be in London attending a "Fire Safety For Facilities Managers" course. In order to catch the train, I have to get up far too early! Aaargh!! At least the course should be interesting!

Arrgh. Fire safety at my place of employ consisted of "Sparky" the firedog handing out little goodie bags of candy and 9 volt batteries.... and the safety coordinators of each shift blindfolded volunteers to watch and time their progress to the exit. I'm told that some people nearly knocked themselves out careening off filing cabinets. wink

I bought myself Hawkwind's "epocheclipse" today. It is a 3 cd compilation of 30 years of Hawkwind's music. It rocks!! Unfortunately, although the first two CD's are great, there is something odd about the third one. When I started listening to the 3rd cd I was surprised to hear someone singing in German to the accompaniment of accordion music. It made me think of blokes...

Re: Writing. I have 26/28ths of a shitty fantasy novel in the rough draft phase, but mostly I write short stories. Disfunctional or unhealthy relationships (between spouses, friends, familiy, etc.) tends to be the underlying theme behind most (if not all) of what I do.

Re: Laptop. I'm wedded to my computer. Almost all of my alone time is spent in front of a screen. I've accepted that, so now that I have a small, light notebook I go out to coffee shops, bars, etc. and work on revisions instead of sitting at home playing crappy video games.

This morning I have just been sitting around listening to my Bauhaus cds. I have to say their cover of "Waiting for the man" sucks greatly!! I must go to the shops soon and get myself food and stuff to last another week.

Men an Tol.. I loved that place, even though I blame it for getting me pregnant (okok it was my fault- Im the one who stripped naked and crawled through the hole.. but I wasnt exactly asking for that sort of fertility!) Fond memories.

Ahem.. anyways, yes I know that some of the best Occultists out there are and have been from Catholic (or Church of England) background. I think it instills one with a profound sense of discipline, ritual and ceremony, even though we dont agree with the tenets of the faith.

The little diatribe was not written in any real sort of anger- Ive long since gotten past that. It was more tongue and something for people to read and either laugh at or get pissed off about.
I do kinda feel sorry for the old guy though.. not much, but kinda. Im more worried about the guy whos going to take his place once JP2 finally knocks off.
I dont believe the 'burning times' of 'The Inquisition' are in the past and dead, and the more I watch fanaticism and religious fundamentalism spread and gather power, especially in the States, the more I feel I'm right about this.

yeah zelator,
i think most people find dating an annoying and humiliating ritual more than anything else... so why do we all subject ourselves to it? there has got to be a better way... cocktail parties? mass orgies? i donno... maybe i'm old fashioned but i'd rather meet someone the old fasioned way like at a party or in a coffee shop. is that to much to ask? gaaaahhhhh!
as for the barbie orgy essay, i have a bunch of it in my journal but its going on the back burner till i write this danm children's play for my work. gaaaaah! when i am a great and famous playwright it will all be worth it.
hope all is well,

hey thanks for the encouraging words.
the younger generation needs to mobilize and fast!
