Girlfriend's workload was going to be too much for her to handle and stay in a relationship so she said goodbye. Said class was over in Mid May but kept telling me to not wait around. She would tell people she still liked me and that she wishes she didn't have to say goodbye, but in the next breath would tell me it's possible we might not want to get back together when she's done. Would tell me hope is a painful thing to hold onto. I'm ever the romantic and would be willing to try, to be patient. Every attempt to extend a hand was swatted away. Didn't even make an exception on my birthday, instead she got a cat.
A little embarrassed to hold the torch for so long but finally after two weeks it's starting to sink in. I need to stop trying to open the door, because clearly the sign says closed.
I am sad, hurt, and insulted. Guess it's time to get back to drawing to occupy my mind.
