Today I played hookey from work, and spent the afternoon eating lime juice bars, listening to tunes, and painting my nails.....sometimes it's good to call in sick.....

I'm wishing I had played hookey too! My wife had the day off from school (icy conditions here).

Teachers are given sick days. The neat thing is that they can use them for "mental health" (AKA, if I don't get a day off, I'll throttle a kid) days. My wife can walk in to work today and say "I'm going to be sick February 17th" and they will mark it down as a sick day for her. I'm sooo jealous.

I wish I could play hookey like that. I have this really sick sick disease that prevents me from doing so. It's called SWE Syndrome or Strong Work Ethic Syndrome. I just can't do it. I've tried and I feel guilty all day and check my work email repeatedly.

There should be a support group for people like me.
