OK, I wrote this amazing post in your journal, but then the internet ate it. Hmmm... aren't all the posts that get eaten 'amazing posts' - does anyone ever lose sucky ones?

You shouldn't be so quick to replace your entries, I'd have replied if I wasn't stuck in corporate hell.. I'll do so now...

I love the recipe, except for the artichoke and mushroom business. In my world, they just might be poisonous lol. Perhaps some nice fresh green beans, pan seared or steamed, then served with a tiny bit of butter. Just a bit. You should also have done some form of bread. Pick a loaf, any loaf, then slice it up and top with anything from parmesan to garlic to cheese to whatever, then slip it under the broiler for a few minutes to get all toasty... or a nice fresh loaf of italian bread, with a dash of olive oil and herbs on a plate for the occasional dipping & swabbing. Probably not what's traditionally considered healthy, but it sure tastes wondrous. I think I cook like you do, ballparking the measurements. Unless I'm feeling nervous, when I find myself checking all the measurements exactly. Funny that.

Sorry to hear about the steak being overdone. I prefer well done, but can tolerate some variation... I like that moment when the last of the pink is gone, but it's still tender and juicy. If it turns into shoe leather it reminds me of something my dad or one of his wives/girlfriends would make and then try to pass off as delicious.

My own food choice tonight was brats on the grill. I finally have a grill again after 6 or so years without, and I'm overcompensating. After the SF prom thing this weekend, I may have to indulge myself and do some grilled steaks and the previously mentioned best baked potatoes in the world. Question - what's your favorite thing to put on a baked potato?

tangerine juice is tasty, but right now it's pomegranates. robek's pom passion smoothies to be exact, they rock my socks. I even was late meeting people last night because I couldn't resist the urge to stop in and get one as I walked to the diner... Yeah, I'm a lame one.
