another update. more of the same. can't sleep at all.
I was looking for work I could deal with for a couple of weeks without any real results. then today...uh...yesterday I got calls for three different jobs. Two were basically..."yeah so we misplaced your application, but I'm looking at it now. When can you start?" both were hotels. one is offering a pretty good night job at..decent...wages. The third job is one my friend hooked me up with that I hadn't heard anything from til today. it's a day job and probably a lot more hours (mandatory overtime most weeks) and it's a lot more physical (which I like/hate). but it's also likely to be an indecent amount of cash. as in a lot. which is good. My Europe trip is hanging on a blade. I should have thought better ahead and planned to do a month rather than two. I may cut Italy out of my trip and spend less time in Amsterdam to save money.
anyhow. I have to be up in....4 hours to see about that other job. I should be asleep right now. I even woke up early today...uh...yesterday...so there's no reason for this.
or maybe there is.
but I'll still make it to the interview. if the money agreed on is obscene enough, I'll piss off the hotels and tell them no thanks, yer lucky I was gonna bail on you at the end of the summer anyway! HA!
so. I have my half full 30GB mp3 player with just about every bit of music I own or have on absolutamous randomatic shuffle up mode.
the last ten songs have been.
1- Cover Me by Bjork
2-The Grudge by Tool
3-Bring Me the Disco King by David Bowie
4- Speaking of Happiness by Gloria Lynne
5- Worms of the Earth by Finch
6- Show Me a Sign by Kontakt
7- Insomnia by Faithless (HA!)
8- Long Gone Lonesome Blues by Hank Williams
9- Like Springs by Liz Phair
10- Cowboys by Portishead
Paisley by Ministry is playing now.
I've been wanting to work on some photos and digimatic type images, but haven't spent much time on it, so I finally made myself sit down for an hour and go through some photos from my 2003 trip.
1.outside of Tuscon in Saguaro National Forest. Was just playing around with scratched up look. that hair. it was purple on and off the whole trip. It faded to bright red in Tuscon and finally to a nice pink just in time for me to get to San Francisco a couple weeks later.
2.my friend Nolan at some park near Phoenix with this HUGE statue of...well...the word LOVE.
3.these really neat stairs in the (I think) Japanese gardens on the hill above Portland. I think the Chinese gardens were the ones down in the city and this was the Japanese...anyway...very green.
4.Oti. Spanish Hairdress I met in Italy. She was very cool and had amazing hair. We went to a peace rally with her and her friend. I ended up in a five hour long discussion of international politics that broke up somewhere around the third bottle of wine for me and the fifth bong load for the Italians and Spainiards.
