good day today.
they finally sent the computer tech over to look at my computer and see what was wrong with it. I had bought it over two months ago and hadn't been able to use it more than a couple days before it stopped working. they'd been sending me all kinds of parts for me to replace myself and I finally told them that, while I was very familiar with computers, I was not actually a tech and I was not going to do any more work on a computer that should have been working when it arrived. especially if they were going to have me open the tower and pull shit out which would technically void the warranty if I did it.
do they finally sent the tech. nice guy. all he was supposed to do was install the new motherboard they sent. But, being a curious sort who likes to figure out puzzles, he stuck around to see if he could get the machine running again.
it turned out there were a couple bad dip switches on the old board and also the bios had some settings that were causing video errors.
so now it seems to be working. I'm using it right now. I love my old R2laptop. it's been everywhere with me...to Cuba and to Europe. around the country. but the new machine is my home machine. lots faster. lots more everything.
as a matter of fact I'm running my aim and looking at naked girls while eating dinner and watching a movie. the only thing the computer didn't do was cook my meal...which I did myself thank you very much.
pan seared tuna steak on a bed of rice with lemon pepper and chopped red oinion and yellow peppers.
washing it down with couple glasses of that Villa Pucini Tuscan Red that I bought the other day. mahvalous.
and for dessert rocky road ice cream and coffee.
if I'm only gonna eat one meal in a day, it's going to be a good one.
otherwise today I took a looong ass nap all afternoon in fact. the tech guy showed up at 930am so i just stayed up til then.
did some swimming. now, I'm no er but I can do some laps when the mood takes me. and I need to do them more often. need to get back into an exercise habit.
also went and spent some time in the hot tub. I know. It's frickin in the 90's here in Austin and some high humidity and I'm in the hot tub. fuck off. it felt good. I like hot.
so...that's muh day.
tomorrow I need to follow up on some job leads. I need to seriously stop fritting away my Europe trip savings.
