At a certain point, exhaustion and annoyance with the bullshit you have to put up with in this job fall away and you realize that you are standing on an eight story tall tower over the pounding waves under a near full moon. The spray is drifting by in ghost shapes. And it just don't matter. I think I have had 6 hours of sleep in the last 3 days. Little more hectic than normal. I got to see a neat joint exercise with the Cubans though. We let thier helicopter fly over the base with a big...basket thing of water under it and put out a set fire in a cleared area and then our helo went over there and did the same. I had a good view. But now I have a few hours off and I am too tired to sleep so I am sitting here listening to Counting Crows and planning my next few days off. I get to go to Puerto Rico! I'd like to say that I am going to be raising hell and going to every bar and strip joint in San Juan, but it is just as likely that I am going to sit on the beach, sip whisky and fall asleep.
