Well here it is, officially Christmas all across the land...and I'm at work.
I actually don't mind much aside from being sleepy. It's been a really good week: my best friend since I was 13 is back in town after not seeing him for almost a year and we've been hanging out with other friends. got to hang out with honeysuckle17 which was really cool. Managed to get gifts for just about all my friends that I wanted to.Last night had dinner with my best friend and his mom who is sort of my unofficial adopted mom....great yummy steaks and potatos and bourbon and goodness, then drove up to Austin to see anotheramazing friend of mine for martinis and misadventure. Tonight I went and did the family gathering at my grandmother's house...feasted and got to hang out with my two baby cousins with whom I get along quite well though they are never sure what to think of me. I've gotten some small gifts that I like this year...work gift of a bottle of Jim Beam and three tumblers...nice...my grandmother went and got me cologne because I am both the easiest and the most difficult person to shop for, if that makes sense. I normally am not at all fond of cologne but she got me two that I actually like...very rare thing that. also a gift card for the book store...always a good thing. I'm nearly broke, but I am getting paid again before New Year's so that's cool. and it looks like I'll be getting out of my father's house for the next five months while I contemplate leaping again to yet another locale. Gonna share a small back house with a friend for a few months...it's a nice place, though small, but it'll be good to get out. Motorcycle is running reasonably well...these next few paychecks will fund incremental maintenance....changing chains and sprockets, fork oil change, brakes bled and fluid changed etc. etc. might even do some of it myself if I can.
things are all around....ok.
and if yer in here...and especially if you managed to read through all of that...I wish you and yours a Happy and serene holidays.

oh....and here's the christmas card I almost sent out to everyone this year....ran out of money to have it printed..oh well.
ps. opened a few more gifts when I got home from work this morning. my poor dad and stepmonster...she was supposed to get me a balaclava to wear when it was cold and I was riding the bike...she got me a wool bank robber's ski mask.
and I told my dad some riding pants would be good to protect the legs...so he got me a pair, a nice pair...of leather chaps. assless chaps!
If they're comfortable on the bike, I'll still wear 'em on long rides and such. WITH pants! otherwise it could get a bit...drafty.
