After almost two weeks of straight working, I am getting three days off. Happy to say this is the second night and I am spending it drunk on whiskey and soda partly outside and partly in here on the computer. It's good to unhinge the mind on occasion. I am and have been all day in one of those lazy/hyper states that I fall into out of boredom or stress or excitement where I am just buzzing with energy. Maybe it's all the caffine from the mix drinks since I hardly ever drink that stuff. Also fun today...showed my roommate what happens when you put a CD in the microwave for just a couple seconds....brief flash and lightning show and SVAHA! a new neat coaster! :-D
oh yeah at WTF! I keep trying to upload this screen of Marla I made and every time it tell me after supposedly uploading it to specify the file to upload!. I've done so like 10 FREAKIN' TIMES! AAAARRRRGGGH. I think I will just email it to girlblue and see if she can post it for me. I have definitly found that I am one of those people who handles larger, life altering events ok...but FREAKS out over the little annoyances in life. I got upset at a game I had because the .exe file on it wasn't working and I therefor couldn't run the game. I grab the CD in one hand and check the file on the computer....next thing I know the CD exploded in a bunch of eensy teensy pieces. Guess I was kinda gripping it a bit tight. But that's ok. Barring some last minute administrative SNAFU I will be flying off island in a little more than 2 weeks. and THANK GOD. I plan to chill out with my roomies back home and do...uh...things I couldn't normally do on Guitmo...like get a couple (oh three or four) tattoos that I have had designs for for almost 2 years but never had done due to previous lack of funds. Maybe I will see if Maggie wants to ink me? I dunno.
9/11 passed here pretty uneventfully. though SOME BRANIAC had the bright idea to test the FUCKIN' AIR RAID SIRENS that afternoon! and didn't bother to tell the Ground Defence Unit, Marine Corps Security Forces, Guantanamo Bay Cuba....naaah why would THEY need to know. Who cares if the guys riding around the base in Humvees with loaded FUCKIN' .50 cal machine guns get spooked. no big deal....right? :-\
But that was probably the most excitement we had all day. They also tested the other alarm system across the base which is REALLY neat. It sounds just like that series of tones they used to contact the aliens in the first Close Encounters movie...EXACTLY the same series of tones...to hear that echoing across the base while I was out in the bush driving about was somewhat surreal to say the least....ok this is easily the longest post of mine EVER! (woo hoo! baloons drop and streamers fly) . I am just one of those people...it's hard to get me talking...it's impossible to shut me up! Love y'all. THanks for keeping me (almost) sane.
big hugs for girlblue and Dia and chiquitalady (why do I always invision Carmen Miranda when I think that?), and BionicFemme and Missy and Lesa and comraderly manly swats on the back to noncomdrone, SPO, and Macratbastard

man, i can't believe my worst suspicions were true about the global corporatization of under-pillow tooth exchanges. isn't it so typical of them to exchange the genuine tooth fairy with a generic tooth collection agent. bastards. next thing you know, santa and his boys will be flying a coca-cola sponsored sleigh...
enjoy yourself, luv!
