Awesome! I'll be here. I have a friend coming to town to stay with me on the 14th, and the ballet's on the 12th, but otherwise I'm free. It'd be great to see you!

Ah all makes sense now ;P Jope you have a great week too x

tried watching The Orphanage, but couldn't get into it. Found the "By the People" documentary on HBO instead and watched that. Really good stuff. It was encouraging to look back at the '08 campaign, not just for the results, but for the incredible turnout even in the primaries and caucuses.

apparently I am pretty good at DJ Hero. biggrin

goodbye, Dwam. frown

today is the 234th birthday of the United States Marine Corps.

Happy Birthday, Marine Corps. Happy Birthday, Marines.

I've been a Marine for a little over nine years now, and I've never regretted joining the Marine Corps. There have certainly been a few times when I would have preferred to be somewhere other than where the Marine Corps had sent me, but I wouldn't trade...

Happy birthday.

I celebrated by approaching some random motard with high and tight and digi-camo backpack. He introduced me to another Marine and we just stood there shooting the shit.

It's remarkable that two guys I don't even know suddenly were like the only people at my whole school who I felt like I knew at all.

There are good and bad parts of Richmond. The high school is one of two in the district in really bad neighbourhoods. Being able to go to another school, at the very least, will be crucial. I just hope she gets a good therapist. I'm not sure which hospital she's in, but we're actually pretty lucky in that department. We have three competent and caring hospitals locally.

Thanks for the compliment- I'm here for the long haul. kiss

She's still coming! I'm picking her up at LaGuardia this Saturday, and she's going home Monday night. We're having brunch with a few of my friends, too-should be fun!blackeyed

No, seriously, I can't wait to see her. We're going to the Met, even though she's not the most mobile person, and to buy loads of I <3 NY stuff for my cousins in Brazil (she's headed there later this month for a good long stretch). I can't wait to show her where I work, right by the Central Park Zoo.smile

good weekend. Went up to Austin a little early to hang out and spend time. I miss the city. Had some good food and spent time with friends. Reported in Thursday afternoon for monthly drill. This was a pretty easy one. We bussed out Thursday night and spent all weekend at the rifle range, getting our qualifications current and up to date.
This is some...

Keep working on those photos...would love to see more!

I'm jealous of your Texas weather right now. We seem to have skipped fall and gone straight to a wet, nasty winter here. I keep waiting for the leaves to turn but nothing's pretty yet. There's enough time left for me to be hopeful, right?

almost made the mistake of going to visit my dad at his house today...

for those who don't know the backstory: my step-mother(monster) is a god fearing (not so much loving) woman of morals that sit as high as her horse. or so you'd think. I've made nice with her for my dad's sake since I was in high school.

well...apparantly she blindsided him with...

Yay weekend is here!

Took today off work...well...actually had to stay home today on account of the nice contusion to my thigh. Had a ladder decide to stop laddering on me yesterday and tried to throw me from 18 feet up. I ended up sideways in the ladder and banged my leg on the rung. It's colorful. But it's just a bruise and it got...

Better get some arnica gel for your leg. Don't want to make that worse than it is.

It's starting to get cool out here, too. It's gonna rain Tuesday & I'm happy about that. Plus, I get to wear my sweater dresses. love

Heal fast. kiss

wish I had something more to post than to just bitch about work...BUT

tonight I was "on call" for emergencies for my a/c company. I got a call at 9pm from a gas station company that we work for. I drove 40 miles to the gas station. Their big walk in cooler (where all the sodas and beer and such are sold out of) would...

So I guess my account lapsed for about six months. It was a weird deal where I got accidentally double billed for my oooooooold original account that had gone bad at one point long ago and the new current account that it had been merged with. It all got sorted out, but I was away a lot and just didn't get back on to the...

That class is a trainwreck-the professor who spoke that day doesn't really pay attention to the first few rows-both of the profs have convinced themselves that they're actually doing a good job and can't be told otherwise. At least the professors in my other classes seem to have things together. The other intro class I have is amazing (tech-learning about how web engines are built, how Unix and Linux started, online multimedia projects) and is actually something a lot of people have to take as well, but they way the class is structured works much more efficiently and is actually something I'll use for my job.

so....I guess I've been away for a while.

Thanks. It is, but it's not because he's oblivious. It's because he doesn't know what he wants.
