I literally have been hip deep in school work. Not even Schiavona has heard from me much since I've been so reclusive.
I had a major assignment in my world Archaeology class where I was analyzing a fictitious pueblo. It was really interesting and I liked working on it, but typical paranoid me worries about whether or not my analysis is clear enough, if I had a decent amount of detail, etc.
Now I have a stupid American Govt group assignment, that after a month of hounding people, I can still get no one in my group to work on. Seriously. I might injure them. I am totally fine with working with people, but when they can interfere with my academic standings, I am not the calmest person.
In lieu of them not helping me one bit, I ask a small favor of you. My "topic" is to write a lengthy re-donk-ulous paper about what my interest group is working on, complete with appendix, material packet, and 10 minute power point presentation. This IS an intro class, so that it a bit much, but whatev.
We chose No Child Left Behind, and if you could, tell me whether or not you support it, if you think it should be removed, or reformed in some way.
This take like two minutes to do, yet my group still wont help me, so I'm asking other people to because I think it would be interesting to have some public opinion intertwined with the interest group aspect.
Beyond that, nothing else Epic like the 2 am diner sing a long has happened.
I had a quiet and lovely Halloween, which is unusual for me, but I enjoyed it none the less.
I cut my bangs. The damn things grow so fast they annoy me, so I cute them a hair shorter and kinda look like a curvy collegiate Zooey Deschanel. She's still cuter though, lol
I may disappear into obscurity for a little bit again, but I think after Thanksgiving life should be settled more.
Plushies are on the way for being sold soon. I had a ton prepared, but alas, school had kept them from getting finished, but they will be soon,
ALSO, Important News. I may or may not be going to Nevis to study abroad for a month and a half this Summer. I haven't fully decided yet, I have until February to make my final decision on the matter. With this looming, I cannot do any SG shoots right now, so I will not have any sets in progress until I make the decision. If I am going I wont have any until after the trip. If I decide I'm not going, which may be more likely due to funding issues for me, then I will pursue my options again. They will look for any reason to not accept applications, or keep students from going on trip since it is overseas, and a really awesome professor of mine told all the ladies in class "don't go doing anything like Playboy or something right now, of they wont let you in". I don't think he thinks any of us were going to go run off an do nude modeling any time soon, then again, i appreciate the knowledge even if he didn't think we'd do such things.
Granted in our "free" society I don't think my choosing to model nude or not should limit me from any action I so chose to take academically. My boobs being exposed do not have any correlation with my intelligence or drive for academic success. Seriously, so free country we are, can't even show my boobs and go to a tropical island. Geez.

The archaeology assignment sounds really cool. You'll have to fill me in on it, if you're not too sick of it by then. As for No Child Left Behind... I think it has some good points behind it in the general, but once you get into the specifics I really think it falls apart. I mean, the core of it is wrapped around standardized testing. Now, all standardized testing has flaws, but in this case the flaw is even larger: everything is based on the retention of students, and training them to parrot back by rote specific facts. This leads the education system to only teach toward these facts and jettison anything that is extraneous to them. Thus, in the classroom, the teacher is no longer able to teach the core curriculum plus interesting, fun or useful things that will be sued by these kids later in life.
Now, my knowledge of NCLB is imperfect at best. If you want a really good lowdown on it, you must talk to TheFox! She is one of the locals and we get together quite a bit, and she is one of the people I really want you to meet cause I think you'll really like her. And she's a teacher. Well, you could also deal with her over the phone, or even email, especially email since it would all be written out for you and you'd be able to refer back to it easily. Actually, this might be the best option so she could take her time and think this through. Actually, if you shoot me an email of what exactly you are looking for, unless it explains everything in your post, then I can handle it so you don't even have to worry about it. Whatcha think?
