The calendar year of 2013 has been an adventure for me. I came out to my family on New Years as an atheist, completing my transformation to being honest and open with whom I am. I lost many friends in the process, but gained so many more, too! I gained many of those friends in another big step I made for myself: school. The Secular Student Alliance at the University od Central Missouri is amazing and I am fulfilling my vow I made to my mother before she died two years ago.
Both would be an epic chapter in my life as I will see, experience, and witness how capitalism, greed, and disease have ravaged a country in South America and learn in a country with more history and culture than I can only fathom.
