hi gaylord falkers....
I started my new job this week, and I have to say I absolutely love it so far. I am praying, wishing, hoping and doing whatever i can to stick with it. I have this horrrrrrrrible habit of giving up when the going gets tough.
So for those of you who don't know i'm working as an admissions advisor for an online university... I contact people who have requested information and I interview them, then I decide if they qualify based on how much they impress me. We don't accept everyone with this university, so it's a lengthy process and it's so interesting.
So I listened to a call today in my training, it was a live call. The guy who was being interviewed was in his late thirties to forties, and was a father of 4 children. You could hear the kids screaming in the back ground... He told his story, about where he had been, what he had accomplished in his life, his hardships and his motivation to get a bachelor's degree to improve his life. He answered all the questions with so much heart, so much desire, and motivation... I was moved to tears...
He wants to go to this university more than anything. For the first time in my life I feel like I may actually be making a positive influence in people's lives, and it makes me so utterly passionate to educate the world. No matter how expensive the education, I know that this is one of the wisest investments anyone could make to better themselves by getting a SACS accredited bachelor's or masters.
But i'm going into this job with a really realistic approach... I want to motivate all these procrastinators of the world. I want to help people pursue their dreams...
And i'm gonna try reeeeeeeeallly hard to keep this job.
I'm investing in stocks and my 401k and it just feels good, cause i can invest, and pay all my bills and still have a substansial amount of dough to live off of.
life is so good right now, i'm hugging myself....cause i feel so lucky.
