Congratulations on moving to NY. It cld be a great thing for you. There are no easy answers to your questions; New York is really many cities rolled into one. You have to find your place. Be clear about what you want, and aggressive. Its all there, but you must be clear about what you want. (I guess I stress this because that was probably my downfall in NY. I moved there w/ my gf in 2002, but didn't have a clear reason for being there. Have a goal that you can express in a short sentence, and don't let that goal slip out of your mind for anything.)
