sometimes i wish i had the balls to tell a stranger to fuck off...
went downtown this evening to see if i could buy some clasps for the chainmail i've been making. unfortunately, i left too late since i got downtown around 8 and all the beading/sewing stores that would have them closed at 6 or earlier. so i decided to just walk along queen street since i was downtown anyway, maybe go into black market if it was still open.
i get to just past spadina, contemplate getting a veggie dog for a few seconds then decide against it. stop at curry's to see their hours (it's closed of course) when a man stops to say, "hi, i noticed you at the hot dog stands. would you like to go for dinner?". (not the exact words but that was the jist of it). i tell him i'm just checking out hours of stores but he's very persistant, asking if i want to do something since he has a day off. that there's good restaurants at richmond he wants to take me to. basically, is very persistant on wanting to do something. i keep telling him politely that it's ok, i gotta get going home, even mention that i have a boyfriend in hopes that he'll just go away. we continue walking down queen street, the whole time asking me questions. i keep saying very short answers, trying to figure out a way to get rid of him.
luckily, when we get close to john street, 3 teenage girls come up to us and ask if we could like to sponsor them for the terry fox run. as they're talking to us, i quietly ask one of the girls to help me get rid of this guy since he's following me and creeping me out. thankfully, she understands and we pretend that we know each other, and haven't seen each other for ages. her friends, not hearing my asking for help think we actually do know each other and we begin walking the other way, back towards spadina. luckily the man doesn't follow us and i graciously thank them for their help but unfortuantely really don't have money to sponsor since i'm a student. i then quickly hop on the spadina street car home.
don't think i'll be going downtown alone anytime soon. at least when it's dark.
dammit, go away creepy people! arg...
but i'm extremely glad i was able to get rid of him. thankyou 3 random girls!
