This week I've been listening to this girl on repeat. I have completely fallen in love with her music. I definitely have the biggest lady crush on her, music aside the girl is another incredible fashionista. Keeping to the theme of Aussie Music I thought I would share this ladies talent.
JOY. - Brisbane, Australia.
'Joy.' is the creation of the incredibly talented 18 year old producer/vocalist Olivia McCarthy from Brisbane. With the mix of airy synths and her light effortless vocals she creates and almost haunting yet soothing tone. McCarthy was just 17 when she scored some serious attention forher debut song "Captured" and has continued to release beautiful tracks since.
McCarthy's minimalistic production is filled out with jittering flourishes of percussion whilst melding in piano to electronic beats. The use of soft and distinct beats over-layed by sultry and breathy vocals really allows her songs to wash over you.
She also just recently did an awesome colab with Peking Duk doing an amazing revamp of a classic, "Can't get you out of my head" for Triple Js Like Version. Turning it into one of their own and in my opinion doing it better than the original.
Without a doubt the girl has some incredible talent is definitely one you need to keep your eyes on.
