took the cats to the vets yesterday with help from a good friend. blue has a bit of a cold and will require daily oral injections of this nasty stuff to make her feel better. since she is the wilder of the two cats we have, it should be rather unpleasant for all involved. funny how they always love you anyway.

you know, i bet if you jumped in the car and drove along the coast for a weekend by yourself, bring some drugs/alcohol, munchies, and a notepad, you'd get a little mini flood to replenish yourself. it's not exactly plucking yourself out of your everyday life and being immersed somewhere completely different, but sometimes when I need to not hear/see my everyday environment, that's what i do...except driving here isn't nearly as majestic as the pacific coast. finding some hilarious 1950's motel that's falling apart and it's called "paradise get-away land" is more what i experience in southern ontario...not exactly tall pines and blue ocean. oh well, you get what you get sometimes, you know? i don't do it often, but when i do, it feels so good to just be by myself with nowhere in particular to go, and i always try to drink a few beers in the local watering hole, i always meet the strangest folks, although i'm sure they think the same of me. i know it's hard to take time away when you're working and going to school, but it sounds like you could use some time away to help get those words'a flowin'.
