A friend of mine that has been staying with us for the past couple of weeks left for the pacific northwest this morning. And made it 300 miles before his car broke down. The car wasn't in great shape to begin with, and evacuation/relocation put another 2000 miles on it. I'm hoping he can get it fixed quickly and cheaply-we are all starting to run...

I get to go home in 3 weeks! I can't wait to get out of kissimmee, but i am already starting to worry about the way things are going to be at home. I am so not going to go through this again next year.
I wish I could be at home for halloween, though. I just don't even care about it here.

The quarter was really alive Saturday nite. People costuming, having fun, and the Bookfair went on at Barristers/Zeitgeist. I've been back two weeks, it finally felt a bit like the
ONO (old New Orleans)...

Happy Halloween!

My job is transferrring me to the New Orleans area, should I be worried?! I am coming from a division with a union that really doesn't do anything (other than send the negotiating panel to go play golf ) to a non union area, so I really don't know what to expect. Good luck with your company though.

It is my anniversary month! (My wedding ceremony was on may 10th, our made up anniversary is may 13rd, and we actually signed our marriage certificate on the 26th, so we decided just to take all of may to celebrate). I bought my husband a shotgun that he wanted and he bought me the baddest pearlescent pink bike ever. A Diamondback Della Cruz. I feel...

is the dream of america one of absolute religious freedom for all, or one that keeps religion absolutly out of public life? my american ideal is one in which people are able to wear religious symbols, or no symbols at all, without being subject to censorship or ridicule. my husband and best friend both believe that religious symbols should be banned in public schools, and...

Two competing freedoms, actually. The "freedom to" and "freedom from." Which is more valuable to you?

I feel passionately about no religion, so religious symbols appear to me like the Nike slogan. The "freedom to" wear them is valuable to me because it costs me nothing. I need no "freedom from" them.
