It saddens me today to have to say that after an 8 month battle with leukemia... my wonderful mother has passed. Her chemo treatments were only making her weaker and destroying her immune system. The depleted immune system ultimately left her open to contract pneumonia, which made her breathing hard and eventually got the best of her. I don't think I told her often enough how much I loved her and how much I appreciated her. She was one of my best friends (benefits of a young mom) and someone I felt comfortable talking about just about anything. At only 32, i never thought I would have to bury my mom, but that's the crazy thing about life... it works in many unexpected ways. She was a great mother and a wonderful grandmother, unfortunately she won't get the chance to her grandson grow up to be a man. I love you mom, always have, always will. and you will always be remembered.
